Publishers Note’s – Is it 2010 or twenty-ten?

January 16, 2010 in Publisher's Notes by Karen Mager  |  No Comments »

It is the rare exception that I post a complete reprint of the CremeMagnolia Wire Newsletter. On further thought I felt it important to let our visitors – who are not necessarily subscribers know where we are going and what’s happening with our CremeMagnolia Community. Since the beginning of CremeMagnolia in late 2008, IT- Our Community has become a haven and source for marketing and promotion for women in business, particularly Business Women Paying it Forward. In that vein I opted to reprint the first Newsletter of 2010.

REPRINT FROM THE MAGNOLIA WIRE NEWSLETTER, JANUARY 15, 2010

Happy New Year and what a YEAR it promises to be! This is my first communication for the New Year and my brain is moving faster than my fingers! First let me say how thrilled I am to announce big things going on at CremeMagnolia – all designed to increase your business in 2010!

Our community has grown far beyond my expectations and the mission to help women in business is even more steadfast than I thought possible. We are an international community and growing exponentially by the week. It is abundantly clear that to sustain our growth – a transformation is in order. What does that mean?

* Ease of Navigation
* Easy access to tools and information
* Social Networking within the Community
* Greater Search Engine visibility for Magnolia Partners
* Additional Marketing and Promotional Opportunities
* Content and Profile Controls for the Partners
* Integration with other networks … and much, much more!

The work has already begun and should be complete within the next two to three weeks. The best news I can possibly deliver is … TA-DAAAA … I am not doing the actual website transformation! Many of you suffered with me while I learned how to spell HTML!

It is with honor and pleasure that I introduce the new Editor in Chief at CremeMagnolia, Ms. Roxanne Weber. A colleague, friend and Magnolia Partner, Roxanne brings tremendous experience, knowledge and talent to our community. Roxanne will develop and lead the implementation of our new social community platform and assist with the expansion of Marketing and Promotional tools. If you have a minute, please drop a line to welcome Roxanne in her new position.

We have several new Partners waiting to be included in our community – YOU will see your profiles on the New CremeMagnolia Platform. Magnolia Partners YOU should be thinking about how YOU want customers, existing and new to see you in the coming year. Profiles should be a work in progress and NOW is the time for you to begin compiling your promotional information. CremeMagnolia is going to put YOU in the control seat – in real time – and as easy as opening your browser!

There are three things we know…

1. Time is money and who has time to keep up with every social media site there is?
2. Technology moves fast and promoting your business on the most visited and fastest growing site for women in business is imperative!
3. More tools, better information, and faster implementation = bottom line revenue!

Twenty-ten promises to be a most successful year for one reason – 2009 taught us how to run our businesses leaner, meaner and more effective. We survived and now we will prosper!

Ours’ is a very strict anti-spam double opt-in communication to our subscribers. We (I) detest the daily barrage of email, the “spammy” and thinly cloaked attempts to sell products and services. As a subscriber to our Newsletter – we will never fill your mailbox with junk! The CremeMagnolia Wire is from, for and about Business Women Paying it Forward – period! Subscribe to the CremeMagnolia Newsletter

Finally, we included a “promotion check list” in the newsletter that may prove to be helpful getting our ducks in a row for the new year!

1. Updated Personal and Professional Profiles
2. Updated Business Profiles
3. Updated Product Photographs
4. Updated Product Descriptions
5. Updated Head Shots (if necessary)
6. Comprehensive Website and Social Links (list)
7. Updated Contact Information
8. Video and/or Audio
9. Pro-Active Business Copy
10. Logo’s
11. Press Releases Written (or at least drafted)
12. Product or Service promotions (sales, discounts, etc.) for 2010
13. Definition of your Target Market

…that’s a good start! Get ready cause the train is almost at the station!
